Pleasant Grove to host open house to receive input on proposed road fee

PLEASANT GROVE, Utah — The city will host an open house to obtain residents’ and business owners’ input on two avenues for securing road-maintenance funding through new fees.

According to a flier mailed by the city to residents, a Pleasant Grove-commissioned engineering study estimates about $3.8 million annually for 20 years will be needed to bring all roads into “good condition.”

The two choices to raise roadway funding are a proposed road fee totaling $1.72 million a year, amounting to a monthly residential fee of $10.29 and higher amounts in five tiers for businesses, and proposed new funding of $1.41 million a year, or $8.45 monthly as a residential fee and higher fees in two tiers for businesses.

The open house is scheduled from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2018 in the Multi-Purpose Room of the Pleasant Grove Recreation Center, 547 S. Locust Ave.

The city invites those with questions about the two road-fee options to email City Administrator Scott Darrington at sdarrington@pgcity.org.
